How The Law of Attraction Really Works
The universal law of attraction is always working. You are always attracting things to yourself. My goal for this page is to show you how this actually works. The law of attraction is very popular and it has become big business. As a result of the media and movies like "The Secret", the univeral law of attraction has become a sort of positive thinking hype for how to get what you want. The good thing is that this publicity brought the law of attraction into the public eye.
You can only attract to yourself what you already are. This is actually quite profound.
To understand how the law of attraction works, it is necessary to understand some things about vibational resonance and the subconscious mind. This discussion takes up the first half of this page.
The second half of the page provides links to some tools to help you change what you are attracting.
The Universal Law of Attraction = Vibrational Resonance = You Attract What You Are
You attract a similar vibrational "signature" to your own. When these vibrational "signatures" are similar this is called resonance. When things resonate with each other they are naturally drawn to each other. These are largely determined by your subconscious programming.This principle is always at work. If you want to know what you believe just look at what is manifesting in your life.
Think of two tuning forks. If you strike a middle C tuning fork it vibrates. If there is another middle C tuning fork nearby it will also begin to vibrate, triggered by the first tuning fork. They resonate with each other. If the tuning forks are not the same note the second tuning fork will not vibrate, no resonance.
Another simple example of this is radio stations. If you are tuned into a country station that is what you will hear. If you want to listen to classical music you need to change the station.
Understanding the Subconscious Mind is the key to understanding the Law of Attraction
The conscious mind is the creative mind. This is the part of your mind that has intentions and recites affirmations. This is the mind that wants to change what is being manifested. The conscious mind processes 40 bits of information a second.
The subconscious mind is a repository of stimulus-response tapes, learned behavior and habits from your entire lifetime. The subconscious mind processes about 40,000,000 (yes - 40 million) bits of information a second! Your subconscious beliefs are running on autopilot virtually all the time.
If the program in your subconscious conflicts with the intention that your conscious mind has set, guess who is going to win?Your conscious mind cannot will the subconscious mind to cooperate. How can you accomplish what you want to?
You must become different. Set an intention to change your subconscious beliefs that are not working for you.
The good news is that now you have choices. You are empowered to create change.
